Cenotes & caverns

Explore geology, light and deep natural history.

Exploring the cenotes is an extraordinary experience. These underground formations preserve thousands of years of geological and human history and once provided refuge and water for the region’s earliest inhabitants. Quintana Roo contains the world’s most extensive known underwater cave systems, with more than 1,500 kilometres of explored passage. Playa del Carmen is surrounded by over 500 kilometres of caves decorated with mineral formations, ancient artifacts, Ice Age fossils and haloclines. Water temperature remains close to 24°C year-round, and some sites are less than one hour from the shop.

The Mexican Caribbean forms part of the second-largest barrier reef system in the world, with varied and accessible sites close to shore. Cozumel is internationally recognized for clear water, walls, drift diving and a remarkable diversity of marine life. Technical & CCR diving

Technical and CCR divers can plan decompression dives on Caribbean walls or within the Yucatán Peninsula’s extensive underwater cave systems. Clear, relatively warm water and the possibility of remarkable marine encounters make the region exceptional, but every dive still depends on certification, unit, bailout strategy, gases, experience and conditions.
